Prof. Thorsten Sellhorn

Thorsten Sellhorn is a professor for accounting, valuation , and sustainability reporting at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich School of Management. He teaches Financial Accounting, International Accounting, Accounting for M&A Transactions, and Financial Statement Analysis & Equity Valuation, and Sustainability Reporting in undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs globally, including the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA and the St. Gallen Part-time MBA. Thorsten studied and conducted research at the universities of Bochum, Wisconsin-Madison, Arizona-Tucson, and at Harvard Business School. He has been designing and teaching executive education programs for major international corporations and organizations including Bayer, Volkswagen, Henkel, and the German CPA Institute for more than 20 years. He has done consulting work for companies like Deutsche Post DHL, Daimler, and Volkswagen. Thorsten advises the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation and the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). His research on the role of financial and ESG information in capital markets is published in leading international journals like Management Science, The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, and Review of Accounting Studies. Thorsten is a co[1]author of a leading German textbook IFRS. He is Past President of the European Accounting Association (2019-2021).
