DKF Stockholm 2024 – A Successful Debut in the Heart of Sweden
Stockholm, 27th August 2024 – The first-ever DKF Stockholm event took place today, marking a significant milestone in the financial data community. Organized by FDC-Events, this gathering brought together market data professionals, thought leaders, and technology innovators at the Convendum space on Birger Jarlsgatan 57 for a full day of insightful discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing.
The event officially kicked off with a welcoming speech from Evert-Jan ten Brundel of SilverFox Advisory, setting the stage for a day dedicated to exploring the latest trends and technologies in market data management. The morning began with a lunch for consumer firms, allowing attendees to engage in dynamic conversations and build connections, all while enjoying a delightful meal. Many thanks to BIQH, financial.com, and TRG Screen for making this opening possible.
One of the event’s highlights was a powerful presentation by Janos Bohnke from Allianz Global Investors on the topic of “How AI is Transforming Market Data Administration: Current Experiences and Future Outlook.” His session covered critical areas such as the complexity of AI training, the role of supervision in improving AI, the automation of workflows, and how AI impacts business processes. It provided attendees with a thorough understanding of how AI is currently being used in market data administration and the challenges that lie ahead.
Another compelling session was delivered by Elise Stijger and Bernard Schut of BIQH, who presented “Implementing a Cloud Market Data Platform within Your Organization Fast – The 3-Step Approach of BIQH.” Their talk offered practical insights into quickly integrating cloud solutions for market data, sparking significant interest and setting the stage for further discussion during the day.
In a particularly insightful presentation, Mark Hepsworth of Alveo Technology shared his expertise on “The State of Adoption of AI in Data Management: Promises and Challenges.” He provided a comprehensive look at AI adoption across the DACH region, the UK, and the USA, discussing the current opportunities and obstacles in the market data landscape.
The event also featured short, high-impact “News Flash” talks from industry leaders, including:
• Anja Hohenacker from TRG Screen
• Philip De Groof from Gottex
• Dr. Hans Peter Wächter from d-fine
These brief sessions offered participants valuable updates and insights into the latest developments in the industry.
The day concluded with a lively panel discussion on “Master Data Management: How to Effectively Manage the Market Data Streams in Your Firm with the Aid of AI.” Moderated by Evert-Jan ten Brundel, the panel featured Ian Sams from TraditionData, Bernard Schut from BIQH, and Janos Bohnke from Allianz Global Investors. The discussion tackled pressing questions such as which data to entrust to AI, the best timing for AI implementation, and how AI can be effectively utilized in market data management.
DKF Stockholm 2024 was a tremendous success, providing attendees with invaluable knowledge, fresh perspectives, and opportunities to connect with peers from across the market data industry. The event’s debut in Stockholm has set a strong foundation for future DKF events across Europe.
We look forward to continuing these important conversations and exploring the future of market data together.
